Speaking from personal experience, it is rewarding to have your older relatives close while they are needing a little extra attention, and allowing everyone privacy and personal space is important as well. Or keep it all for yourself, spread out, create your personal haven, for entertaining, relaxing, or hobbying (and it can be kept well out of site) How would you like to have an indoor exercise area? Or this could be a great Artist studio or dance area…ever think of opening a day care? This might qualify, and keep it out of your main living space….Lots and lots of options. Total # Bedrooms – 4. Realtor Thoughts – I just watched a DYI show addressing an bedroom/bath suite similar to this. While you don’t have to go as lavish as the folks did on the show, it can certainly give you some ideas for change if you want it. My taste would involve, minimally adding a wall to separate the bath and bedroom, then depending on whether you will use a Jacuzzi tub or not, you could remove the tub and add a Walk In Roman Shower, with or without multiple shower heads. I love the look and size of the pedestal sinks along with the ability to get up close and personal with the mirrors…(those of us with glass can’t see to far without them). So I would add counter space either were the existing shower is, or If I don’t need or can’t afford a Roman Shower, but don’t want a Jacuzzi tub, then you could add cabinetry in that area….If you choose to remodel, it doesn’t have to be pricey. I have a licensed, insured contractor – Steve Ciancio (302)838-1800, that has really reasonable rates, and I trust him completely, assuming you would want to change a Thing, and are in need the help of a professional.
